Eating Difficulties

Welcome to North Shore Women's Centre's information on eating difficulties.

Introduction:

Recognising that food, weight, and body image issues are significant sources of distress for women, North Shore Women's Centre provides women with appropriate information, courses, referral, and counselling options. We emphasise a socio-cultural interpretation of eating problems, maintaining that culturally dictated, unrealistic body shapes and sizes perpetuate eating difficulties. We view women with eating disorders as vibrant, creative, and dynamic individuals that consist of more than an eating problem.
